Like a Rolling "Ston"

Alright, so we bought a couple of bus tickets and they said Split to Ston. What they should have said is Split to pretty close to Ston, or 5 km away from Ston. We were riding along enjoying the sights of the Adriatic when we saw the sign to Ston with the arrow pointing right. But the bus didn't turn right it just pulled over to the side of the highway. The porter called out "Ston" so we hustled off, grabbed our bags and the guy just pointed back saying, "Local bus." So we walked that way and found a sign with a bus on it and waited...and waited. About a half hour in a woman came up with a suitcase and sure enough this was where we would catch the bus, but not for at least another half hour.
Finally after about an hour we got into Ston which is a small community of about 3000 people known for its salt beds and its wall that was built to protect the salt that was being produced for the Republic of Ragusa of which Dubrovnik was the capital. It is the second longest wall in the world(third after Trump builds his) and it took over 400 years to build. It was 7+ km at its longest.
After a bit we found our Apartment Mage(MA-gay) which has a great view of both the salt beds and the wall(the wall has actually been used for King's Landing in Game of Thrones).

We went to Stagnum Restaurant at the recommendation of our host.

It is in an enclosed garden with an outside grill and the food is great. We started with an appetizer of mussels Bouzaro and then shared on an entree of a white fish fillet with prawns. Croatians know their food. The owner, who is also the grill cook makes sure to shake your hand when leaving, thanking you for being there.

Later we found a local wine shop, did some tasting and some buying then walked back to our place, and sat on our deck until the sun went down.

Tomorrow we plan to walk the wall into Mali Ston!
