Everybody Must Get "Ston"ed

We're on a bus taking us from Split down to Ston where we will spend a couple of nights before heading to Dubrovnik for our 7 day cruise. Our last day in Split was more relaxing with not a lot of must does. We got up fairly early to visit the cellars of the Diocletian Palace. For Game of Thrones fans this a bit of a Mecca as they used this location for some the scenes in season 5, mostly the Daenerys' story. They were actually setting up for a flower show and there were already 2 tour groups but we managed to find some quiet areas.












For the rest of the day we wandered, stopping for gelato, sitting and relaxing in the sun on the Riva and people watching.






We sussed out a number of eating places and finally decided on Bokeria. We had a glass of rose to go along with our baked Brie with restaurant made crackers along with pistachio mayonnaise....the best mayonnaise ever!


Later we did some more strolling and then back to our apartment for a short break....then off again to get some evening pics of the waterfront.






We finished the day by going back to the wine bar, Zinfandel,where we had a plate of Croatian cheeses, olives and fig jam. A nice ending to the day!
