We woke up to a sound we are very familiar with....pouring rain. We decided to have a slow start but around 11:00 we figured it was time to brave the wet. So after bundling up and donning our newly purchased plastic Plitvice ponchos and our trusty umbrella we headed out on the trails. Crowds were down a bit but there were still a lot of people on the boardwalks and the added water really got some of the falls raging. We managed to walk up to the top of the chain of lakes and then catch a shuttle back down. Needless to say our feet were cold and soaked. We stopped for a snack along with a tea and a wine, I'll let you figure out who had the wine. Later we went back to our room and had a little dry out and rest.
Not having our fill of rain we decided to go out for one more hike. It was still wet but for the most part we were able to get some quiet time along the trails. It is an amazing place.

Later we went for dinner in our hotel, stuffed grilled trout Plitvice style with roast potatoes and one more cremesnitte.

A typical salad here. Lots of pickled cabbage.

Tomorrow the bus to Split.
