The Long Day to Granada

We got out fairly early this morning and headed downtown for our final stroll. We walked through another market and I don't think I've seen so many ugly fish on display....some looked like they were really angry that they were going to be eaten, others would make me angry if I had to eat them. We stumbled upon a church that we had been looking for earlier but couldn't find, St. Maria del Mar. A very beautiful church but there was a guy outside that was dressed better than me, younger than me with newer glasses than me that was begging outside the church with a take out coffee cup (he might have had a briefcase, too) and Mary gave him some coins?! We've passed destitute old women kneeling down with their foreheads plastered to the ground and Mary hasn't given them money...yet, a guy in a sport jacket and new glasses she does.

Anyways, we made our way to the airport early to take our flight with Vueling Airlines. Barcelona to Granada is a one hour flight. We went through security at 2:30, our flight was scheduled for 4:55....we arrived in Granada at 8:30 and arrived at our hotel at 9:15....it was a long day. Mechanical problems, switching planes, bus rides over the Tarmac and a long slow bus ride into Granada from the airport.

We got to the tapas bar recommended by Krista and it was great. However,we are learning about half raciones much bigger than tapas and also that in this bar every time you order a drink they bring you a free tapas. We won't be ordering two half raciones tomorrow after our visit to the Alhambra...just lots of drinks and bring on the free tapas!

"The rain in Spain falls mostly on the plain" is not true... It falls mostly in Granada! It is pouring today, all day!
