We took a break and took a stroll in the city until we came to a restaurant where we had a tapa and a racion along with a cervaza, of course. From there we wandered through the streets using our trusty, well-worn street map until we came to the Real Palacios, the Royal Palace. This is Spain's answer to Versailles.
On our way to the palace we ran into a parade for the legalization of marijuana...lots of smoke in the air.
Later we found another little eatery which can be very difficult to do on a Saturday evening in Madrid. The downtown squares are packed with people in the evening partaking in their nightly paseo...the Madrilenos just strolling along enjoying tiny beers and tapas in bars and streets, taking in the evening.
This morning we are sitting in the Atocha Renfe Staion waiting for our AVE train to Barcelona.
Adios.
