We took the bus to Pont du Gard to visit the most impressive part of the aqueduct of Nimes. It is thought to be one of the most "grandiose works which antiquity has bequeathed us". It is 275 m long and it is 45 m tall, only two m short of the colosseum's height. It was a beautiful day. We saw the bridge from a number of viewpoints including from the Gardon River(where I also got to see my first French breasts sunning on the bank...sorry, Dave, John, Ed, no pictures).
When we stopped for lunch near the Pont we shared the best hamburger I've ever had, and some pretty good frites also.
Later, back in Avignon, we went out to La Vache au Carreaux and had another excellent meal. Last night we had a great meal at Fou de fafa, a restaurant run by a British chef and his wife. Tyler, do you get the reference in the name of the restaurant. I didn't, but think of a comedy team, second season.
I'll include the pics of the four restaurants we visited in Avignon.
For our last night in Avignon we walked to the other side of the Rhone and tried some night shots.
Tomorrow to Nice where we actually got some tickets for one day at the Nice Open tennis tournament.
Take care. Wish you were here...I'm running out of money and need someone to borrow it from.

FotC? I had to look it up, but Ange got it right away. I need to revisit that second season.
