If this is Saturday it must be Arles

We had a fairly painless train day from Nice to Marseille and then on to Arles. Our problem, once again, came when trying to find our hotel. An hour of trekking around the city and Mary asking for directions a number of times finally led us to the Hotel L'Amphitheatre. The hotel is very nice and we recommend it as a place to stay if you visit Arles.
We later found a brasserie and sat down with a nice, cold, big beer. We found an excellent restaurant called the Grillon and had another fantastique meal. I had a Mediterranean soup and a main dish of duck and Mary had a cheese and seafood crepe followed by a plat of scallops. We ended up dining alongside a couple who are retired teachers from Chicago(they put our hunt and peck French to shame). We found out that they were staying at the same hotel so we invited them for a glass of rose wine back at the hotel.

Tomorrow we are off for a tour of the Camarque region.
