The Only Man in Ljubliana With Shorts

We headed into Ljubliana by bus and went into the Old Town section. Spring hasn't arrived in Ljubljana it would seem but the main square was still filled with Italian tourists. We were told by one of the market vendors that it is close to a holiday break in Italy so they flock to this area.
I have not packed for the cold weather (optimism or stupidity?) but I thought I'd save my pants for night and wear my shorts. After about an hour of walking through the streets getting stares and glances at my unprotected legs and freezing I gave in and bought the cheapest pair of pants I could find.
Ljubliana is a beautiful little city and we got to see quite a bit (with our newly purchased umbrella) like the Dragon Bridge, Butcher's Bridge and Triple Bridge.

We also hiked up to the castle and toured it. The symbol of Ljubljana is the dragon.

When we got back down into the town the rain had picked up and as it reached its crescendo we poured ourselves into the Julija Restaurant and had a great meal of beef goulash and pasta....with wine, of course.

By the end of our meal the rain had lessened and our bus arrived at our stop just as we did. We got to back our room for a quiet, dry evening in.

  1. It is a little cool here too. Yesterday, when we got to Paris, it was only 6 degrees! This morning in Rome it is 8 degrees and will get to 17, and windy. Not as wet as you, but I am thinking good thing I put in a pair of long pants and a sweater. Enjoying your posts and pictures!
