He is a student in Budapest, studying food engineering while also being an agent for OVB, a major European financial advisory company. He was very helpful and shared a lot of information about Budapest and Hungary. He even gave a quick language lesson. Too bad we hadn't met him before Budapest! If you're reading this, Richárd, thanks for making a long trip feel shorter and we hope everything went well with your clients and hopefully you had a speedy return to Budapest.
The Slovenian geography is more hilly and forested and the train followed a river into Ljubljana. We got a taxi at the train station to get to our place in Tacen, just outside the main city. Our place is called Dvor Tacen, dvor meaning a house with a garden. It is a beautiful room with lots of light wood and we have a view(partially blocked) of the Sava River. Just across the road from our place is a kayak Rapids course.
After checking in we found a funky little restaurant. When we walked in it looked like a very tiny little bar but they showed us in to another room behind the closed door which we had all to ourselves. Later an older woman, probably a regular, came in for her hot drink and dessert. She tried communicating with us and we tried back but it amounted to a lot of smiles when she smiled and frowns when she did. And nods of course. Our lack of intelligent responses did not slow her in the least. We finished our potato soup, "composed" salad and spaghetti( probably not the wisest thing to order in a Slovenian restaurant) and made our way back to our place. This was 8 o'clock. We lay down on the bed and the next thing we know we woke up at 2:30 fully clothed. We got under the covers and slept until 7:00 in the morning...more than 10 hours of sleep. Today we explore Ljubljana.
