Today we headed out from our new place, gassed up and headed out for Playa Cas Abou. We were armed with a new maps app, "maps.me". The good thing about this app is that once you have downloaded the maps for your area to your device, you don't have to be connected at all. It also seems to be pretty accurate as we only made one wrong turn....that's pretty good for us. It was a long drive for Curaçao, 38 km, and the last two were mud-filled with huge dips and holes but this beach was beautiful. We spent our day lounging, reading, drinking and swimming...it's a tough haul but somebody has to do it, right?
At the end of our beach day we started back and stopped at a restaurant, the De Buurvrouw, and had a great meal. We started with a glass of Pinot Gris each and a trio of bruschettas, beef, fish and vegetarian. For the main course we split a chicken breast with Brie, apples and crispy ham accompanied with oven roasted potatoes and a very spicy coleslaw. All very tasty. From there we drove home where our clean laundry was waiting for us in our room (done by the hotel for 10 guilders) and had a quiet and early evening after Mary went down for a gelato.
