On the Train from Lisbon to Porto

We started out this morning in Salema where we got up early and caught a taxi into Lagos in order to catch our train to Tunes. There we changed trains and made our way to Lisbon where we changed again and we're now on our way to Porto. A long day but the trains have been good...kind of a forced rest day. Although we had one of those yesterday as well, only not forced.

Our last day in Salema we got up and out for daily walk along the beach...we always tried to be the first footprints of the day....and Mary thought this would give her the best chance of finding that special shell. Later we went back for breakfast and shortly after that, back to the beach for a bit of sun and relaxation.

We had decided to catch the bus to Sagres, the end of the Euopean continent, base for Henry the Navigator during the Times of Discovery, and hopefully some good photos around 2:00 that afternoon. We were at the bus stop ready to go when the bus pulled up but it's destination was Lagos, the opposite direction from Sagres. Our bus wasn't due until 3:30. Okay, we could wait.....
But we both started showing signs of "Salema-itis".....desire for large amounts of sangria, feelings of "it can wait for another day", (I mean Henry the Navigator didn't even do any of the sailing, did he?), and generally not having much energy.....so back to the beach.....Sagres would have to wait for another trip.

We finished the day with another tasty dinner. Salema is tiny but it doesn't lack for good restaurants. Salema is another must see place on the Algarve...I mean, when has Rick ever been wrong?
