Very lazy..but I guess that's what a month in Hawaii is for.
Sunday we headed off early to get a front row seat for the Super Bowl at the Lava Lava Beach Club that brought in a large screen TV, had a special menu and drinks, we each tried a Seahawk drink, and prizes. We got there shortly after 10:00' the game started at 1:30.....so you can figure out what we did...and it wasn't walking on the beach. There were lots of Seahawks fans that enjoyed the Seahawks bumper sticker that Mary put on the back of her t-shirt. Our friends from Colorado, Jill and Kelly, joined us and everything was going great until that last Seahawks play of which we will not speak. We even led the bar in the C!-Hawks chant. Oh, well.....the sunset at A-Bay was nice.
Monday was a laid back kind of day. After a late start we walked into Hawi for our Tropical Dreams ice cream fix and then strolled through the town for awhile. We always forget that this round trip walk entails a long uphill return...in the heat and humidity of the day! After some refreshments and rest we drove over to the neighbouring town of Kapa'au. We met some really nice locals at one of the stores and they told us about the par three golf course where green fees are $10 for the whole day. Club rentals are $20. All payments are done by honour system to be deposited in a little metal box. Home to take in a meal of re-heated ahi and fresh pasta, wine and "L.A. Confidential". A relaxing day!
